Rhenium Research Excellence Scholarship for
Graduate Students in Life Sciences
Rhenium is pleased to announce the Rhenium Research Excellence Scholarship, awarded to outstanding MSc research students in the Life Sciences, in collaboration with Bar-Ilan University.
The scholarships will be awarded during the Ilanit Conference, to be held in Eilat on February 24, 2026. Scholarship recipients are required to attend the conference and participate in the award ceremony.
Scholarship Objective
The scholarship aims to promote research excellence in the Life Sciences and enable outstanding graduate students to dedicate themselves to high-impact research. Special emphasis is placed on advancing women in science and supporting candidates from the social and geographic periphery.
Scholarship Scope
10 scholarships, each in the amount of NIS 10,000.
Awarded subject to the decision of the professional judging committee and the official scholarship regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a research-based MSc program (Year 2 or above) in Life Sciences
- Study at a recognized, state-funded Israeli higher education institution (approved by the CHE)
- Hold Israeli citizenship or permanent residency
- Submit a complete application in accordance with the scholarship regulations
Applications must be submitted exclusively via the academic institutions.
Independent submissions will not be accepted.
Each institution may nominate up to five outstanding candidates.
Required Documents
For each candidate:
- CV (up to one page)
- Personal statement (up to one page) describing personal, research, and social background
- Updated academic transcript
- Two letters of recommendation (from the PI and a senior faculty member)
- Proof of enrollment / academic status
- Supporting documentation for social–geographic periphery status (if applicable)
- Commitment to attend the award ceremony at the Ilanit Conference (February 24, 2026)

Judging Committee
